tisk, tisk, tisk...

I’m sorry I have been so blatantly MIA as of late. I have no decent excuse for you. Let me up date you on the goings on that have taken place during my absence:
  1. I’m moving. I know you’ve heard it before, but trust me, this time is for real. I’m moving in with a good friend and former-roommate (yay, the roommate-counter doesn’t move!) in OMAHA. Yes. It’s happening this Saturday. All because…
  2. I GOT A JOB! I’ll be cubing-it-up at Mutual of Omaha as a Finical Advisor. (Please, don’t laugh; you are not the first to question this decision).
  3. Name Change: the fashion show, formally known as Big O! Fashion Show, has been changed (per the Chamber of Commerce request) to O!Fashion: Showcasing Omaha’s Fashions. I encourage you to check out the beautiful (yet, still in progress) website.
  4. 90 days until SHOW TIME. (well technically less than that…eek!)
  5. Don’t forget to pick up (and might I add, ooogle at) my/our/Fashion Show article in the March/April edition of Omaha Magazine and Encounter Magazine.

In other news… I just opened up my Sprint bill. Total text messages for the month of January: 1,9367. I hope that explains my absence. That is a record, folks.

#'s game

24. Its a number that has scarred me for years.
24. Was the number of years my mother experienced prior to becoming a mother.
24. Was the age of my mother when her husband was killed.

What will 24 bring for me?

60,000 issues printed
20,000 subscriptions delivered
1 full page photo

600 Facebook fans
90 days until show time
$0 in sponsorship

24. A new city and career. Fame and Fashion. Love?

sunday afternoon thughts...

i'm in the strangest mood today. pissed, yet complacent, lazy yet on the ball.

i have made the announcement official by telling family members my new plans to move to omaha. i am excited but not lost in the cloud of excitement. i need to find a job, a place to live and at the same time, finish the semester out-- classes and the AMA. As well as keep on top of the Big O! Fashion Show. so much to do and time doesn't seem to want to collaborate.

Oh geez...

this is much more than procrastination. its part refusal part ignorance.
i have 12-15 page paper due on tuesday, i currently, have less than 1 page complete. just can't seem to get my self motivated enough to push through it.

my apologies for the random, unreliable postings lately. shits gotten much more complicated that i could have dreamed.

moved back home. yes, bit the lip of pride and moved home. i know reside among the boxes filled with Christmas crap in the lovely unfinished basement. it does get nice and dark at night, though. (there is a silver lining-- my love for sleep is encouraged!)

some recent and very exciting news is a new endeavor i'm undertaking with my partner in crime, sir John Gawly (no, he's not royalty but you should know his name!). we have started the next BIG thing in Omaha. The Big O! Fashion Show will be arriving spring of 2010. Providing a stage for the local fashion industry to shine while serving to those with Leukemia and Lymphoma.

The show will be two nights with a launch party dedicated to the Green Collation of Omaha. This project has just started to take flight, so keep your eyes posted for ads in the OMAHA magazine with a feature article coming as well. ... and don't worry I'll keep you posted on here as well!

for now, keep your heart open and your mind focused...

Cheerios for dinner

Sometimes when you get everything you want it seems undeserved. While gratitude is something that I value very much as I sit in my very own apartment my confidence is slipping slowly. And amusingly there is no one to tell or express my lack of confidence. I have succumbed to my own fears in my own corner of the world. I can sit on the couch that I paid for eating cheerio’s that I paid for; slurp the excess milk from the bowl that I paid for at eleven at night. But the memory of the three of them sitting there with a look of sadness and confusion burns into my soul and asks the question: what is it really worth?

Dinner and a Move.

I had my first official date with Love Library. And no, it wasn't studying or stacking. I met Will on the second floor of the library yesterday. A perfect day for sandals, a tank and of course a cardigan. A walk to the capitol filled with metaphysical banter, a walk back to campus also filled with metaphysical banter, a five minute discussion on where to eat, a free #1 meal from Taco Bell and a dash of hand holding.

AND A MOVE!!!!
I'm moving. This weekend. Downtown. Just letting the neighborhood know in advance to prepare themselves. I cannot wait to decorate, organize and enjoy the fruits of my labor. I will keep you posted as to the journey of finally moving out on myown.
